ARE YOU A CREATIVE OR BUSINESS PERSON?
EITHER WAY WE HAVE THE JOB FOR YOU
IN THE EXCITING WORLD OF FILM & TELEVISION
DON’T MISS TAKE TWO – OKANAGAN FILM FUNDAMENTALS
Do you like painting or numbers? Either way we have the job for you.
If you are painting houses for a living or a fine art painter, a right brain or left brain creator, we need you. Want to explore a new creative path with the skills you have, check out decorating, set design, and props in the Film and Television Business.
Or are you more into numbers, accounting, office work or administration and want to use them in a different and expanding industry, where something is new every day? Then we also are looking for you.
If you have your own business and want to switch your skills to a new career in Film and Television, Art and Production Departments are essential jobs in creating the essence of this visual industry.
Interested? You can explore careers in art departments or on the business side of Film & TV at the upcoming TAKE 2, OKANAGAN FILM FUNDAMENTALS BOOTCAMP. It will answer all of your questions: do you have the job skills needed, are your skills transferable, or what training do you need; what do work days encompass, what are the onset protocols, who you will work with, and more.
Jon Summerland, Okanagan Film Commissioner, elaborates, “People with these skills are an asset to this business and there is a need. It is an exciting career with new experiences every single day. And, if you want to work as part of a team, production crews are like a family, everyone is in it together to make the film or series happen.”
“If want to work in Film and TV, want to know what the job opportunities are, and based on your current skills what you would be suitable for, TAKE 2, OKANAGAN FILM FUNDAMENTALS is for you.” TAKE 2 is a three day Bootcamp, September 23 – 25, which will kick start careers in the Okanagan Film and TV industry. Attendees will experience two days of classroom and hands-on practical training from award-winning professionals and, on Day 3, those gained experiences will be put into practice in the making of a short film.
Presented by the Okanagan Film Commission, WESTBANK First Nations, and the Centre of Arts & Technology Kelowna, TAKE 2 is a unique opportunity to network and learn from industry experts. Some of the most talented people in Film and TV will lead workshops that will guide attendees to understanding job opportunities. Jon summarizes, “We are about to launch some exciting new careers in this industry and if you want to fast track your career, sign up for TAKE 2.“
TAKE 2 – OKANAGAN FILM FUNDAMENTALS BOOT CAMP opening reception is on September 22, followed by three full days of symposiums from September 23-25.
