Where History Meets Natural Splendor in Canada's Smallest City

Where History Meets Natural Splendor in Canada's Smallest City

Greenwood is known for being Canada’s smallest city, with a population of 702 in the 2021 census.  This quaint city has a charming historical corridor reminiscent of an old western movie. This former mining boom town has unparalleled historical richness including a bygone provincial Supreme Courthouse, smelter ruins from the BC Copper Co. and as an internment camp location for Japanese Canadians. Educational resources are available at the Greenwood Museum and Visitor Centre.  Get information there to access the Phoenix Interpretive Forest drive east of town.  The outdoor recreation opportunities are near endless with the gateway to the Trans Canada Trail, hiking up Jubilee Mountain, and exploring beautiful Boundary Falls.  For fishing, boating, and camping Jewel Lake is just 9km north.
