Regional Partners Take on Development of Boundary Economic Diversification Plan
The Boundary Region is actively engaged in the development of an Economic Diversification Plan aimed at invigorating the health and vibrancy of our communities. The Village of Midway and Community Futures Boundary are excited to partner and lead this important initiative that will impact all communities within the Boundary including Grand Forks, Greenwood, Midway and Regional District Kootenay Boundary electoral areas C/Christina Lake, D/Rural Grand Forks and E/West Boundary. This alliance, symbolizes our region’s unwavering commitment to increase the economic diversity and resiliency of the region amidst its ever changing realities. It has been made possible by funding from the Province of BC through the Rural Economic Diversification and Infrastructure Program (REDIP).
Lochaven Consulting has been hired to assist with this initiative. Together, the team, working with Community Futures and the Village of Midway, will develop the Economic Diversification plan to act as a roadmap in reducing Midway’s economic dependence on a single sector to build a more diverse, sustainable economic foundation. It will aim to enhance economic development efforts, bolster the region’s ability to seize opportunities, and actively engage key stakeholders in the economic transition.
