Kootenay and Boundary Regional Adaptation Strategies Workshop

[/fusion_title][fusion_text]

Agriculture producers are invited to join us in PART 2 of a workshop series to develop the Kootenay & Boundary Regional Climate Change Adaptation Strategies. (Note: you don’t have to have attended the first workshop to attend the second – all agricultural producers are welcome!)

Together we will be exploring how the agricultural sector can adapt to climate change and and will be working in small groups to develop strategies and actions for the following priority impact areas:

1) Warmer and drier summer conditions
2) Increasing variability
3) Increasing wildfire risk
4) Changing hydrology – increasing spring flood risk
Note: pests, diseases and invasive species will also be covered under the variability topic

Up to $300,000 in seed funding will support collaborative local agricultural adaptation projects following completion of the strategies.

Greenwood

Thursday, January 31st, 9:00am to 2:00pm
