RDKB HomeSmart Spring Tips

With Spring in the air, here are some Tips and Tricks from the RDKB HomeSmart team to help you maintain your home’s comfort and keep it ready for tomorrow:

💧 Maintain Your Drainage Systems – Clear any debris from drainage systems and clean your gutters. Spring is also a great time to install rain barrels to capture spring rainfall. Be sure to check your sump pump and backflow prevention system as well.

🌬️ Seal Air Leaks – Spring is a great time to check for air leaks and seal any gaps or cracks before warmer weather arrives.

⛈️ Prepare for Unpredictable Weather – Spring can bring sudden weather changes. If you’re heading out of town, consider asking a friend or family member to check on your home in case of an extreme weather event.

🏡 Understand Your Home’s Energy Use – If you’re looking to improve your home’s efficiency, try using the Home Energy Planner to explore upgrade opportunities. (Note: This tool does not replace an EnerGuide assessment but is a great starting point!)
