VACANCY – KITCHEN MANAGER, PARKVIEW MANOR

Reporting to the General Manager, our Kitchen Manager has the lead role as they direct and support all aspects of our food services at Parkview Manor.  We are an independent living facility serving both residents and Meals on Wheels customers.  We provide 2 meals per day for our residents from our fully equipped commercial kitchen.  Our mission: “We serve healthy, fresh, “home cooked” meals for our residents”.  Our vision: “I can hardly wait ‘til the next meal!”

This position offers flexible hours and could be either a part time or full-time position.

What you will bring to this position:

  • Excellent cooking skills
  • Leadership/organizational skills, flexibility and the ability to create a team environment 
  • A basic understanding of financial management including budgeting
  • Able to use Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • A strong understanding of the nutritional needs of seniors

 

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with seniors preferred
  • Previous experience managing a commercial kitchen preferred
  • A basic understanding of financial management including budgeting
  • Able to use Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Physically able to perform all the duties including the ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • WHMIS Certificate
  • Food Safe Certificate
  • Criminal Record Check will be required
  • Must be FULLY vaccinated
