From BC Wildfire Service: Southeast Burn Ban in Effect Friday, July 5th at noon

Effective as of 12 p.m. (noon) PDT on July 5, 2024, Category 2 open fires will be prohibited across the entire Southeast Fire Centre. Anyone conducting Category 2 open fires within the Southeast Fire Centre’s jurisdiction must extinguish those fires by the Friday, July 5, 2024, deadline.

The following equipment and activities will be prohibited:

• Category 2 open fire as defined in the Wildfire Regulation

• Category 3 open fire as defined in the Wildfire Regulation

• Fireworks

• Sky lanterns

• Burn barrels or burn cages or any size of description

• Binary exploding targets

• Air curtain burners
