Seniors Being Seen 2025

The ‘New Horizon’ grant activities for the “Seniors Being Seen Program” are ongoing at Riverside Centre in Rock Creek, each Thursday from 1:30 – 3 pm. Come and join us, it’s a free activity and there is lots to learn
All seniors are welcome. All programmes are about 50 minutes long (with time for questions/answers). Complimentary, catered refreshments are served after each session.

Thursday, February 13th, 1:30 pm –Tarie Ann Frazier – ” ‘Doula’ is Greek for ‘Helper,’ Part I – A Gentle Introduction” There are “bucket lists” and there are “bucket lists.” One involves very practical tasks such as down-sizing, setting up a will, finalizing burial plans, etc., etc., The other, often sadly neglects, or avoids, tasks involving the more intimate issues of end of life.,, will death be frightening; will I leave unresolved personal conflict; what has my life meant, even if I didn’t accomplish everything I meant/wanted to; how to access appropriate medical support; who will be with me when I die; what have I forgotten; and,,,??? Tarie Ann Frazier, of Death Doula Network International presents “Part I – A Gentle Introduction,” to help us begin thinking about both the practical and very intimate end-of-life tasks. Her primary role is to respectfully assist clients define and implement their own life-stage of dying in the ways they wish – what that uniquely means as individuals, “Part II” will be presented on February 13th, at 1:30 pm.
