Upcoming Events:
For the past three years, plus a few months, we have been re-introduced (by professional (regional and provincial) foresters, biologists, hydrologists, agriculturists, artists, trades people, medical providers and others) to an in- depth over-view of the rich resources we enjoy in the West Boundary. We have also learned of the many and growing threats to these resources – which are our very heritage, way and means of living. So….
Yes, So!!!! Beginning this month, July 2026, it’s time to really, really look at all we’ve LEARNED rather than riffling thru the drawer for the HANDOUT on that problem (“where did we shove it anyway?”). AND it’s time to DO something proactive about our Boundary Community Safety Net – while we still have one.
Thursday, July 2nd – 1:30 pm – Join Brenda Schmalz and Ginger Ferguson in “Literally Making a 20′ x 10” Twine Replica of the West Boundary Safety Net” This will be “Part One of Our July Safety Net Project,” the literal twine net illustrating & representing resources currently available to us in the West Boundary, Greenwood to Carmi. And believe us, we’ve learned some of those resources are becoming less plentiful. Join us in making the NET, bare spots and all.
WHY are we doing this and WHY should you join us? Because there will be “Parts Two, Three, Four and Five of the July Safety Net Project” (TBA) looking at and creating Community Solutions, Repairs and Remedies.
Remember: “When you have a problem to solve, ask a farm kid. They know their way around baling wire.”
