RDKB Presentation: In Forested Landscapes – Forest Disturbance and Impacts of Hydrology

April 5 @ 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm

In Forested Landscapes – Cumulative Hydrological Impacts, Disturbance Thresholds and Hydrological Sensitivities Presentation

Plan on attending an interesting presentation with a special focus on the Kettle River Basin by Dr. Adam Wei (introduction) and Dr Yiping Hou.  Dr. Wei (UBCO) will provide a short introduction on forest hydrology and research happening in his department; followed by Dr. Hou presenting her PhD research on the cumulative effects of forest disturbance on watersheds – specifically in the Kettle River watershed.

Dr. Hou’s research is focused on the impacts on hydrology in large watersheds; reviewing how hydrological processes have been affected by cumulative effect from forest disturbance brought on by logging, wildfire and mountain pine beetle in forested watersheds.

It will be held Rock Creek Visitors Centre, 3990 Hwy 3 in Rock Creek on Friday, April 5 · 1:30 – 2:30 pm.  Snacks will be provided.
