Hello KRWAC members,
RSVP needed for those planning to attend the afternoon field tour. I will have sandwiches available, so when you RSVP please include any dietary requirements.
Field Tour: September 29 from 12:30-3:30pm. Derrickson Swamp Project. Join us for a tour of the Derrickson Swamp project, where 37 Beaver Dam Analogue structures were installed September 2025. We will review the site selection process, maintenance, and long-term viability. Please remember to dress for the weather, including waterproof footwear (ie. rubber boots), the tour will include walking on uneven ground.
Note – it is a 40min drive to the site from Big White. Carpooling is strongly encouraged; the site is accessed via unpaved Forest Service Roads and requires a high clearance vehicle. RSVP required for those attending the field tour: watershedplanner@rdkb.com.
