Marilyn Hanson

Secretary, Midway

Marilyn Hanson

Along with her husband, Marilyn has been a resident of Midway for 30 years and raised three children in the area.

While her children were in school, Marilyn was an active participant in Parent Advisory Councils and was instrumental in the formation of a District PAC in the West boundary. Marilyn has also been an educator in all our West Boundary schools, most recently retiring from Boundary Central Secondary where she held positions as the Indigenous Education Teacher, Career Counsellor, and Inclusive Education Teacher. As the Indigenous Education Teacher at all West schools, Marilyn played a leading role in the opening celebrations for the Christina Lake Cultural Center and for David Sevendeer’s installation, “Stektahl” (baby raven Heelah’s circle) found in Midway’s Entwined Trees Park.

For the past 4 seasons, Marilyn and her family have been the summer caretakers of the school garden at BCSS. In retirement, Marilyn hopes to have more time to enjoy her grandchildren, biking, hiking, gardening, quilting and getting to know the Boundary from a new perspective.
