Joyce Ricioppo

Joyce started her career at the City of Edmonton Fire Department, where she discovered a knack for numbers and embarked on becoming an accountant. She then transferred to Edmonton Power (EPCOR), where she worked for 33 years mainly within the customer service department, preparing budgets, forecasts and developing performance-based metrics benchmarked with multiple Utilities in the USA. She led their analytics team and worked closely with IT to ensure financial integrity of the systems and set up billing and reporting structures within the competitive retail Energy market.

Joyce started volunteering at a young age giving her time to seniors in hospital and animals in shelters. She has sat on many boards, her roles varying from Director of Operations for Hockey Alberta’s Program of Excellence to being successfully elected as a Trustee for Civic Union 52. Joyce is a level 2 coach in the Hockey Alberta Program and coached for 14 years.

Retiring in 2013, she came to BC and eventually settled in Big White. She now sits on several boards and committees within the Boundary, the Boundary Area Food & Agriculture Council, Boundary Food Security Network, the Trails to The Boundary Society, and Big White Mountain Community Development Association.
