KVR Outfitters was established in 2024 when we purchased the business assets of long time tour company KVR Cycle Tours to continue the business when the owners wanted to retire. After an extensive search this Spring that attracted many applicants, we are pleased to announce Doug Teramoto as our new Tour Manager.
Doug is a retired professional athlete:
- Canada’s first Pro Skateboarder
- World’s fastest in class BMX 1984
- Pro Superbike Motorcycle Racer
- High level Mx racer over 50 class
- Competitive Mountain bike racer
He comes to us with 40+ years of management experience in retail, food services, recreation and tourism. He coached and instructed sports and is a certified teaching professional in golf and snow sports. He also has extensive experience in event production. He’s been the owner operator of a bicycle repair shop for over 8 years, and a bicycle mechanic since 1974.
Doug lives in the Boundary. We know him from his volunteer work with youth with Remote Control Hobbies and the Annual Soapbox Derby in Greenwood. He’s a lifetime member and golf instructor at Kettle Valley Golf Club, where he is helping to develop youth opportunities at the golf club.
Doug hit the ground running before his contract was even signed. He’s familiarizing himself with our tour routes and service providers and he’s already sorted and evaluated our bicycle fleet. He’s planning marketing & promotional activities, and is brainstorming with us potential Boundary wide events that will attract people to our area. It’s all about community development!
